The Cub Scout Adventure Day is an opportunity for Cub Scouts in Maroondah, Monash and Whitehorse Districts* to have a great day out learning about compass, maps and navigation.

The day starts with a series of activities to teach the basics, by doing them in some fun ways. We fuel up for the afternoon with a sausage and drink, and then do a specially prepared rogaine course in a controlled area, in the heart of deepest, wildest Ashwood.

Cubs will be able to complete part of their Outdoor Scouting test in all Boomerangs, and with some thought you could easily include some of Safety for all Boomerangs, Scientific Discovery for Silver and Your Community for Gold, as well as some of Bushcraft 1 and the Grey Wolf. The testing part is up to you as Leaders, we are just running the day for you. The emphasis is on fun and experience, not the test passing!

It is on Sunday 22nd March from 9:30am to 3pm. Please note that participants need to be there for the whole time.

The venue is Parkhill Primary School, Mel 60 K19, Parkhill Drive, Ashwood.

For only $5 per Cub Scout you receive a great day, a special activity badge, some new skills or maybe a top-up of exiting ones, and a sausage, bread & a drink for lunch. Tea & coffee is provided for leaders & adult helpers.

For all the information, see the page here.

To register, go here. Please note that the event is strictly limited to 200 Cub Scouts, it WILL close when this number is reached.

And finally, if you can't make the day, or don't get in, remember that you can always come to Suburban Adventure Racing along any Tuesday night.

* We know we have many keen Cubs & Leaders from other Districts and yes, you can register. If there are places left, you are welcome!
