There has been a very positive response to the news that the Carlton Scout Group will be re-opening in July.
We’re looking forward to once again having Cubs and Scouts in the historic Scout Hall at 12 Shakespeare Street in North Carlton, between Drummond and Lygon Streets. We have just finished renovating the building and it’s beautiful!
Scouting is the largest youth organisation in Australia. Membership is open to boys and girls of all backgrounds, ages 5-26, in the following age groups:
Joeys (ages 5-7)
At Carlton, we will be offering Cubs on Tuesday evenings, and Scouts on Thursday evenings, starting July 22.
We have already had interest in launching the Joey section and a start-up date will be announced as soon as we have enough names—so if you’re interested, let us know!
Venturers meet on Thursday evenings in Alphington, and will start meeting in Carlton as soon as we have enough numbers.
Rovers already meet at the Hall on Monday evenings.
Parents and other adults are always welcomed to get involved, and to participate either a little or a lot!
All kids and parents are welcome to give Scouting a try, with no obligation.
Scouting offers a wide-ranging program of activities encouraging the physical, intellectual, emotional, social and spiritual development of young people. Scouting is a fully inclusive organization. All adults involved in Scouting hold Working With Children cards.
