The Annual Founders day Debutant Ball was another success this year. 12 Debutants and their partners proved that the venturers do scrub up really well.

Tullapark Venturer unit had two of their members join in the fun this year, Shanae and Beau partnered each other and did the unit proud. They had only 6 rehersals before the big night, learning 3 different dances to perform before an audience of family and friends.

At the end of the first couple of lessons it looked doubtful if the debs would learn the dances in time as there were feet going everywhere and the girls toes were a little squashed BUT by the final lesson we were all amazed at how far they had come. They were gliding around the floor as though they had been doing it for ages.

On the big night the nerves were starting to show and after several photos and a last rehersal the night began. WOW they were all great and there wasnt a mistake to be seen once that music started. They were presented to the Region Commissioner Mr Peter Rutley and his wife Jo who were beaming with pride as the debs were brought forward.

After completing their 3 dances the debs were presented with their sashes and then got to ask their mum or dad to dance with them. A great night was had by all.

Here is Shanae and Beau with their proud Venturer leaders Snoopy and Brod.
