Hands on practical training

Start learning about the wonderful world of radio.

If you are interested in achieving your first Amateur Radio License or just learning a little about radio, this is an ideal training opportunity.  The course follows the Amateur Operators Certificate of Proficiency – Foundation syllabus.  It includes theory and practical sessions.

Training weekend (non-residential) including:

  • Foundation amateur radio training
  • AOCP(F) assessment (optional)
  • training and assessment by a friendly team.

The course is ideal for teen-aged Scouts, Venturers, Rovers and Leaders.  Parents are welcome to attend with their son or daughter.  Prior to the course you will need to do some study.  We provide all applicants with a training manual and we recommend that you start reading this two weeks prior to the course.

At the end of the training sessions, you have the option of sitting the official assessment including multiple choice questions and practical assessments.

Traveling by public transport? Our venue is only 10 Minutes walk from the Hurstbridge Railway Station.

We normally provide a light lunch on both the Saturday and Sunday.
