The front view of Sithen Brownsea at our open day held on 27th February 2011
The Scout Heritage Victoria museum is located in a small cottage tucked in behind Como House at 27 Como Avenue South Yarra.  It is well positioned, overlooking Como Park and the Yarra River.  Scout Heritage Victoria has been using Como Cottage known as “Sithen Brownsea” for the last 30 years.  Sithen is old English for “after”; therefore the name means “After Brownsea”.

Camp blankets and casual gear worn when sitting aroung the camp fire in the eveningsTemporary display room
The Room at the rear of the cottage currently has a selection of camp blankets and casual scouting gear.  This is what members would wear when sitting around the campfire in the evenings.  If only these blankets could talk, they would tell some wonderful stories.
